EQUINE PROGRAM
Davis Stuart offers teens the unique opportunity to experience the emotional benefits of providing care for horses, while learning proper horsemanship.
WHAT IS THE EQUINE PROGRAM?
"A horse can change the way you see the world."
Our Equine Program is therapeutic and engaging! Many of the residents who come to Davis Stuart have not had exposure to a working farm or experienced the benefits of caring for horses.
The Equine program is known as The DS Spirit Riders, and is a recognized 4H club in Greenbrier County. Our young people receive instruction on how to safely care for, train, and ride the horses on our campus at Davis Stuart.
The young people in our Equine program have several opportunities throughout the year to attend and participate in area horse shows, including the annual Davis Stuart horse show, which raises support for the continuation of the program. Our participation in the local 4H chapter allows our residents to compete in the annual horse show at the State Fair of West Virginia, as well.

The Equine program at Davis Stuart is one of the unique highlights of our campus and a favorite activity of many of our residents.
